Revitalising the South London area

The Issue

As common with many high streets – Streatham business owners were suffering from the pressures of on-line competition. It has a high proportion of independent stores which were also competing with larger chains.

There had been a general period of decline leading to business closures and shrinking of businesses. Whilst the council were looking at addressing broader issues such as transport, appearance and general environment they recognsied that business owners would benefit from specific help with growing and transforming their businesses.

What did we do?

Branduin delivered over an eight month programme over 50 1 to 1 business review sessions with local businesses owners. These were supported by pre questionnaires so they could focus on the key areas for each participant. Branduin produced an action plan for each business owner and where relevant accessed additional Government funding from programmes such as Business Growth Accelerator.

The results

Each clinic was assessed via questionnaire and the participants scored the clinic an average score of 4.2 out of 5. All the business owners from whom it was appropriate got additional funding from Government schemes to help their transformation programmes.

Branduin have provided an excellent face-to-face Advice Service for businesses in Streatham including High Street retailers and smaller independents.
